2nd Update
Hello fellow Nightmare enthusiasts!
After much hard work we have fleshed out more of our mechanics and gameplay of Waking Nightmare.
In this iteration, the tutorial, level 1 and level 4 are all completable, with tasks, nightmares and a working bed and door mechanic to actually help you complete the level. This is a huge step up from our last version and we aim to bring you more progress within the next week ready for beta!
We will also share some of our mechanics:
Level 1 features the cleansing mechanic. Players cleanse nightmares from the level using the F key. Players must cleanse a previous nightmare before the next one appears. This will become a core mechanic in Waking Nightmare.
Level 2 features the puzzles mechanic. Players will have to interact with a fuse box to restore the nights. Think similar to doing wires in Electrical in Among Us.
Level 3 features the hiding mechanic. A dramatic noise may appear and the player must hide in the level to survive. This is where the dangers in Waking Nightmare begin. This mechanic is also partially complete in Level 3, so go test it for yourself in our newest version!
Level 4 features the chase mechanic. Nightmare objects may chase the player once interacted with. Even though Level 4 is playable right now, this mechanic isnt ready for us to share more with you yet :(.
